Laura Hurd

I grew up in the Hoosier state of Indiana and even lived in Santa Claus, Indiana, for a few years. My family and I spent the summers boating and swimming in the lakes there. After graduating from high school in Fort Wayne, Indiana, I attended the University of Indianapolis and graduated with a BA in English, French, and Elementary Education. I married my husband in 2004, and we decided to trade in the cold winters for the sunny beaches and moved to Florida to be teachers for Polk County Schools. I have always enjoyed helping others, whether that is teaching children to read or helping a friend find the perfect home.
I enjoy traveling to new places and just being outside in this beautiful state. I have ran 3 half-marathons, and I am always looking forward to training for the next one. Being able to be active outside all year long in Florida is truly a blessing! Speaking of blessings, I have a 6-year old son and a 3-year old daughter. Life is an adventure with them- whether it is going on a camping trip or just hanging out at the pool.
